The government has nominated chairmen at 10 District Development Committees (DDCs) and vice-chairmen at 15 DDCs, an announcement said Thursday.
According to the Ministry of Local Development, the 10 DDC chairmen were appointed in Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Dolakha, Arghakhanchi, Baglung, Myagdi, Rolpa, Doti, Achham and Dadeldhura districts.
All the new DDC chairmen are from the ruling Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), the announcement said.
The government earlier appointed mayors and deputy mayors in all 53 municipalities, four sub-metropolitan cities and one metropolitan city.
The five parliamentarian parties have been protesting the nominations, terming them “undemocratic” actions of the government. nepalnews.com mr Jan 8
