The Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) on Thursday airlifted 19 passengers who were injured in a bus mishap at Swargadawari, Khala VDC-7 of western Pyuthan district.

At least 16 people were killed and 19 injured when a bus with registration number LU-1-GA on its way to Swargadawari, a popular Hindu religious shrine skidded off the road and fell 200 meters down the gorge at Bainetar area.
A statement issued by Directorate of Public Relations of the RNA said that dead bodies of all 16 passengers were airlifted to Kathmandu by sky van of RNA.
The deceased have been identified as helper of the bus, Shova Kant Kafle, pilgrims, Madhav Raj Adhikari, Alka Devi Adhikari, Srijana Adhikari, Bhawani Sigdel, Shambhu Sigdel, Parbati Sigdel and Manju Adhikari.
Surnames of two other deceased women, Maya and Iswori could not be known. Among others dead are daughter-in-law of injured Ruku Acharya, wife of injured Ram Chandra Sigdel, mother of Kapil Kafle, one Kokila Didi and mother of one Sagun Rana. Name of one 40-year-old woman could not be known.
All injured and deceased were from Kathmandu. The driver and conductor of the ill-fated bus are still absconding.
