Kathmandu, June 28: Communist Party of Nepal (Verma), a small splinter leftist group, merged
with CPN-UML Thursday.

CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Nepal welcomed Krishna Raj Verma and other newcomers in a function organized in Kathmandu. Communist Party of Nepal (Verma) was one of more than 12 communist groups in Nepal led by Krishna Raj Verma.

“Our party merges with CPN-UML from today and I along with all workers of our party join the mainstream communist party” said Verma in the programme.

Verma created his own party by breaking away from another communist group called CPN (Rayamajhi) led by present chairman of Raj Parishad, Nepal’s Privy Council, Keshar Jung Rayamajhi. Verma then merged with CPN (United) but again split.
