The US government is looking to extend a grant assistance equivalent to 390 million rupees, which will go into conducting human rights training for the Royal Nepal Army personnel, media reports said Monday quoting spokesperson at the Kathmandu based US Embassy.

According to reports, the grant assistance put aside for Nepal for the year 2003 through the recent decision of the American Congress is not for purchasing weapons. The US has been extending similar assistance in other parts of the globe also to strengthen the human rights cell of the army.
