The National Assembly, Upper House of Parliament, Tuesday adopted a code of conduct for its members. The code of conduct includes, among others, to declare assets of National Assembly members and their families within three months of being elected to the Upper House.
This move comes following widespread demands for declaring the asset of politicians, ministers, parliamentarians and high-ranking officials. The code of conduct also states that members will not misuse public property, not be influenced by financial gains from anyone, not express their opinion being influenced by others and not to drink in public.
This code of conduct is not applicable for the members of the Lower House.
