KATHMANDU: Two soldiers were killed and one other was injured in a Maoist ambush in Gorkha district Wednesday, the Defence Ministry said Thursday.

One soldier died on the spot and another died while undergoing treatment at the military hospital in the capital, the Ministry said.
Security personnel have launched aerial and ground search and cordon operation to nab insurgents in the district.

Two Maoists were killed overnight in a shoot-out with the military in Dang, the Defence Ministry said.
Army recovered weapons and explosives while arresting several rebels, an official announcement said.

Security personnel recovered arms, ammunition and explosives hidden in a plastic barrel in Nuwakot overnight, another announcement said.
More than 20 suspects were arrested for questioning Wednesday nation-wide, an official said.
