Two Deputy Superintendent of Police and one Assistant Sub Inspector have been taken into custody for their alleged nexus in the gold scam that took place in Ottu.

Those arrested are Deepak Thapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Valley Criminal Investigation branch, DSP Purna Chandra Joshi of the District Police Office and Bishnu Prasad Soti, Assistant Sub Inspector of the Bagmati Regional Police Office.

Thapa and Soti have been charged of forcing the person who was looted to sign a document stating that he had received all the gold that had been taken away from him by the miscreants. Similarly, Joshi has been charged of taking the looted gold without making an inventory.

The investigations have been taking place under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police Krishna Basnet after the victims filed a complaint at the Police headquarters.
