Security forces Sunday shot dead two Maoists during searches in Rolpa in far west nepal, security sources said.

They were attacking a security patrol when the pair was shot dead. Several other rebels were also injured in the shoot-out. Rebels Sunday night abducted an activist of the RPP from Salyan, security

sources said. He was identified as Keshar Singh Gharti.

Seventeen suspected Maoists detained for nearly one year in Nuwakot were released Monday at district headquarters, RSS said quoting police. A two man bench of the Supreme Court Monday ordered the release of lawyer Narayan Adhuikari–a suspected Maoist lawyer.
