Two Maoists died in an accidental bomb explosion at Sanghachowk in Sindupalchowk Wednesday on the last day of a three-day national strike called by the rebels, published reports said Friday.

The rebels were carrying the bombs. Colleagues fled with the bodies of their dead, eyewitnesses said. The bombs exploded as rebels were preparing to set up an ambush by the roadside.

Armed rebels Thursday shot dead Netra Bahadur Timilshina at Kaliban in Makwanpur, police said.
