Kathmandu, Dec. 31 : Two persons died in Rajbiraj of Saptari district today in course of the bandh pogramme organised today in Saptari, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Nawalparasi, Kapilvastu and Dhanusha districts in protest against the attack, vandalism, and arson against Nepali citizens of the Terai community in Kathmandu, and the setting of fire to the Nepal Sadvawana Party Central office in Kathmandu.
The two persons, who were killed at a mass meeting organised today at Neta Chowk of Rajbiraj of Saptari district in police firing, have been identified as Khusilal Yadav and teacher Mahendra Chaudhary.
According to a press statement issued today by Nepal Sadvawana Party, Umesh Kumar Shaha and Laxmi Raj Chaudhary, who were seriously injured in the incident, have been admitted to Dharan hospital.
Denouncing the incident the NSP has extended heartfelt condolence to the members of the bereaved families and demanded that His Majesty’s Government immediately stop such undemocratic and inhumane activities.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by party president Gajendra Narayan Singh met Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala in Kathmandu today and apprised him of the attack, looting, vandalism and arson perpetrated in the capital and in various parts of the country, and demanded security for the Nepali citizens of the Terai region.
