Two civilians were killed in a landmine explosion near Maiya Khola bridge linking Change and Khamlung area of Taplejung district on Friday.

The two civilians were returning from the district headquarters after taking sick people there, state run Radio Nepal reported.

The dead have been identified as 53 year old Phurba Sherpa and 39 year old Darenchi Sherpa of Sangu village development committee.
