Tribhuvan Club win Workers’ Cup Volleyball

Bhaktapur: Tribhuvan Club, Jawalakhel Youth Club and Kaski District Volleyball Association were declared first, second and third respectively in the 3rd Nationwide Workers’ Cup Volleyball Tournament organized by the Youth Sports Group, Bhaktapur at the Martyrs Memorial Playground here.

Pashupati Chaudhary was declared the best lifter, Rajkumar Adhikari the best spiter, Ramchandra Kumal the best blocker and Ravi Bogati the best all rounder of the tournament.

The volleyball tournament was participated in by 13 teams from different parts of the country.

President of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and MP Narayan Man Bijukchhe gave away the shield, medals and certificates to the volleyball teams and players at the concluding day of the tournament.

Mr Bijukchhe gave away cash prizes of Rs 12,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 3,000 to the teams declared first, second and third respectively.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Bijukchhe said that sports plays an important role in developing friendship as well as discipline.

At the function chaired by convenor of the volleyball tournament Ravindra Twarbuja, secretary of the Nepal Volleyball Association Binod Charan Raya, Mayor Prem Suwal, Krishna Govinda Larwa and others threw light on the importance of sports.
