Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Kuber Sharma stunned the business community Sunday when he said that he was ready to give away Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC) for a mere one and half billion rupees as it was incurring a huge loss.

The assets of RNAC have been valued at more than 10 billion rupees. “I would waste no time to give away RNAC to any businessman who pays one and a half billion rupees,” Sharma, told a programme organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

FNCCI had organized the programme to felicitate Sharma for being appointed to the post of Minister.

Sharma pointed at the sorry state of the country in the social and economic front. He blamed the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) for inviting such a state and warned that its leaders could be jailed for institutionalizing corruption.
