A higher court in Tibet has revised sentences delivered to three Nepali
nationals on charge of drug smuggling, reports said.

According to official Chinese news agency, Xinhua, the Higher People’s Court of Tibet  on Tuesday sentenced Ravi Dahal to death with reprieve, Iswori Shrestha to imprisonment for life and Rewat Kumar Dahal to ten years’ imprisonment after founding them guilty on charges of drug trafficking. The court also ordered to confiscate their personal property.

In May this year, the Lhasa Intermediate Court had sentenced Rabi Dahal and Ishwori Shrestha to death while Rewat Dahal was given 15-year imprisonment.

The Tibet Police had arrested the accused on May 29 last year with nearly 30 kg of heroin at Khasa bazaar  near Nepal-China border. Earlier, both Nepali and international human rights organisations had appealed the Chinese authorities not to implement capital punishment delivered to the Nepali citizens.
