Their Majesties King Gyanendra and Queen Komal visited Siraha in connection with their unofficial visit of the Eastern Development Region.

Zonal Administrator of Sagarmatha zone, Ram Kumar Subba, president of Siraha district development committee Lagan Lal Chaudhari and government officials welcomed Their Majesties upon their arrival.

Their Majesties participated in a special function organized in Siraha.

Royal appointed DDC chief Chaudhari informed His Majesty about the security situation of the district and status of service delivery in the district.

DDC chief Chaudhari informed His Majesty the King that terrorism and smuggling is increasing due to the free border with India.

Their Majesties interacted and listened to the grievances of local people on the occasion.

Their Majesties returned to the eastern divisional headquarter of the Royal Nepalese Army in Ithari on Friday afternoon.

His Majesty the King is acquiring information about the law and order situation and service delivery status in the districts of eastern development region.

T heir Majesties have already visited Taplejung, Panchthar and Ilam districts of the Mechi Zone and Solukhumbu, Oakhaldhunga and Khotang districts of Sagarmatha zone.

Their Majesties had left for the eastern region on January 1 and are scheduled to return to the capital on January 22. This is their second visit to the region after the Feb 1 royal takeover.
