King Gyanendra Monday appointed Royal Nepalese Ambassador to Belgium Narayan Shumsher Thapa as also chief of the Nepalese Mission to European Community, a notice published by the Royal Palace Secretariat said.

Thapa retired from the post of foreign secretary in December last year and had also served as the Nepalese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
