KATHMANDU: Teachers and administrators Wednesday called for talks with Maoist students to thwart a planned indefinite closure of schools in Kathmandu Valley from next week.
The National Private and Boarding School Association Nepal (NPABSAN) urged talks with the All Nepal National Free Student’s Union (Revolutionary) to end the stalemate.
“The call to close down educational institutions indefinitely will cause irreparable losses and will have a severe impact on people, including parents and children,” Parshuram Pokhrel, member secretary of NPABSAN said. The left students are pressing 13 demands including free reduction.
