KATHMANDU: Tax payers have been asked to compulsorily pay the remaining 40 percent of  income taxes by January 13 or face punitive action the next day. The Internal Revenue Department of the Finance Ministry made the announcement.

The Finance Ministry has drawn up a list of 500 individuals and institutions who have to clear their dues as the government faces a cash crunch to meet increasing security costs after the emergency slapped in November.
