Students continue protests

Students continued anti-government protests Friday by burning effigies of “regression” at campuses in the Valley and other parts of the country.

Students and police clashed at Tri-Chandra Campus and Padma Kanya Campus where police entered the premises, students said. The protest created huge traffic jams in the city.

Seven student unions affiliated with opposition parties Friday decided to call a strike in Chitwan on December 29 to protest what they call government excesses against protesters there Thursday. Defiant students Thursday chanted anti-King slogans in campuses for five minutes.
