KATHMANDU: Six more Maoists were killed in three districts Thursday and Friday in clashes with security forces, the Defence Ministry said.

Four rebels were killed and one each in Saptari and Rolpa, an official announcement said.
Security forces recovered 31 guns from insurgents in Ilam, arrested 27 suspects and confiscated Rs.51,000 overnight in Nepali currency notes, the Defence Ministry said.

Security forces arrested 49 Maoists for questioning, an announcement said.
Police shot dead Shekhar Yadav, a rebel wanted for two murders, as he tried to escape from a police van in Dhanusha Friday, police said. Police defused two socket bombs in Lalitpur overnight, the Defence Ministry said.
