Six Maoists killed in latest security actions

Security forces have gunned-down six Maoist insurgents in latest security actions in Bara, Dailekh and Jumla districts.

According to the army headquarters, three Maoists were killed in a security operation in Nijgadh of Bara and two in Matela of Dailekh districts on Wednesday. Another Maoist was killed in a retaliatory action in Jumla.

Arms and ammunition and Maoist-related documents were recovered from the incident sites.

Similarly, four died in an accidental explosion in Pyuthan and three in Taplejung district last week. According to the RNA, six more insurgents were severely injured in the Pyuthan explosion.

In Kapilvastu, security forces rescued a local teacher, Bajrangi Prasad Chaudhari, from Maoists on Tuesday. Maoists had abducted Chaudhari from Dalpur area of the district last week, the RNA said.
