Switzerland Thursday gave Nepal a Rs.73.7 million grant for the fourth phase of a programme to rehabilitate the Arniko Highway, the only highway linking Nepal and Tibet. Representatives of the two governments signed the grant accord Thursday.
The highway was reopened to traffic this week leading to several million rupees in revenue losses at the border after landslides blocked vehicular traffic for several days this month.
Nepal and China are opening a second road link between Nepal and Tibet through Rasuwa.
