Rs.536,000 was collected in donations for Maiti Nepal at the recent wedding reception of Maya, the daughter of Prabakhar SJB Rana, the managing director of Soaltee Hotel. Maya wed a retired American diplomat.

The nearly 150 guests to the reception were asked not to bring gifts or flowers but to donate instead to Maiti Nepal. Maiti Nepal works to rehabilitate  former sex workers and children.
