The central working committee meeting of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has held the activities of incumbent ministers responsible for widening the gap between the King and the political parties.

A political paper presented by party general secretary Dipak Bohara said that the activities of the incumbent ministers are forcing the monarchy and the democracy into crisis.

The report said that as the party is in favor of dialogue between the king and the political parties on the basis of the preamble of the constitution but the present government is moving into the reverse direction.

Meanwhile, talking to Nepalnews Joint General Secretary Khem Raj Pundit has said that the party will go for the agitation demanding restoration of the democracy. “Being a political party we do not support the autocratic rule so street protest is the only option in present circumstance,” he added.

He however expressed dissatisfaction over the demand of the alliance of the seven political parties for the reinstatement of the dissolved House of Representatives and said that RPP will move with its own agendas and programs.

“We are always in favor of dialogue between the King and political parties to resolve the problems dogging the country but the activities of the incumbent government were against this principle,” he added.

He informed that RPP is in the view that formation of all party government is essential to find the negotiated settlement of the Maoist insurgency and to hold free and fair election in the country and expressed confidence that meeting will take decision to this effect.

The meeting is continuing today as well.

Intra-party rift is widening in RPP over whether the party should side with the king or political parties.
