On the first day of their new phase of stir, they closed down all community and institutional schools across the country.

They have warned of indefinite closure of schools if their demands were not met.

Earlier, the government, National Private Boarding and Schools Organisation (NPABSON), Private Boarding and Schools Organisation (PABSON) had agreed to meet the demands of the teachers by the end of April.

The agitators have claimed that none of their demands have been met.

Private schools owners, however, said they were not in a position to meet the demands put forward by the agitating teachers. They said they preferred to close down schools should the agitation continue.
