Powerful earthquake jolts western Nepal

A powerful earthquake jolted Bajura, Mugu and Humla districts of western Nepal Tuesday, Department of Seismology said. The magnitude of the earthquake was of 5.8 in the Richter scale.

According to the Department of Mine and Geology, the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred at 1:17 pm was Rugin that is situated between Mugu, Bajura and Humla districts.

There are reports of damage of houses and school buildings from the earthquake in Mugu and Bajura.
