Police seize communication equipments from UML General Secretary’s residence

Armed Police Force (APF) men on Wednesday seized communication equipments from the residence of CPN UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal at Koteshwor, Kathmandu.

According to UML party sources, a team of Armed Police Force led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Madhav Thapa entered the house of Nepal at around 4 p.m. and forcefully seized telephones, computers, fax machines and other electronic devices.

The policemen left the house after an hour, the source added. Nepal has been placed under house arrest under the Public Security Act 2046 since Jan.20. No reasons have been given for the raid and seizure of equipments.

The move came one day before the central committee members of the CPN-UML are scheduled to meet Nepal.
