Poachers kill eight rhinos

Poachers shot dead eight of the14 one-horned rhinos found dead in the protected Royal Chitwan National Park in the last four and a half months, Park officials said.

Poachers escaped with six horns while park officials have recovered seven horns until December 1, a park official said. Other dead animals had not developed their horns.

Tigers killed two calves and eight others died naturally. Two tigers and one leopard have died in more than four months.
