Pakistani ambassador to Nepal Zamir Akram has said that Pakistan, the current chair of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), is consulting with the member states for a new date for the 13th SAARC summit.
Talking to media people at an interaction program marking the Kashmir Solidarity Day at the Pakistani embassy in Kathmandu on Thursday, ambassador Akram said, “We are in touch with the member states, but the new dates for the summit is yet to finalized.” The 13th SAARC summit was scheduled to be held on February 6-7 in Dhaka.
Highlighting the Nepal-Pakistan relations, ambassador Akram said, “The Pakistan-Nepal relation is tension free.” On the recent political development in Nepal, the ambassador said, ” It is an internal affair of Nepal, and (Pakistan believes that) Nepal is capable of resolving it herself.”
The Pakistani envoy alleged Indian army personnel of violating human rights of the local people in Indian-administered Kashmir.
