Security forces Sunday shot dead a woman Maoist at Thapre in Rasuwa district, the Defence Ministry said Tuesday. She was identified as Ashmita who was involved in killing security personnel. Security personnel recovered arms and ammunition from the clash site.

An army medical team treated 81 persons at Gorkha Monday and distributed free medicine to the sick there, the Ministry said.

Maoists released Achham district committee member Nanda Bahadur  Khadayat after abduction, eyewitnesses said. Khadayat, a CPN-UML activist, was seen at Mangalsen, Achham district headquarters.
