Nepalgunj, May 25: Fattewal Eye Hospital, which is run under the Nepal Netrajyoti Sang Banke district chapter held a press conference here recently to furnish information about services rendered by the hospital.

On the occasion, district chairman of the Sang Krishna Gopal Tandan said the press conference was called to inform the public about the actual situation at the hospital as its patron had begun to do things likely to create a false impression.

He said the hospital run with the help of the Swiss Red Cross and local social workers does not pander to anybody’s personal interests, adding that it was functioning as per the constitution of the sang and regulations.

Asked about comments that families ties held sway at the hospital, financial irregularities had taken place, there was bias in the distribution of memberships and employees had been appointed on the basis of fake certificates, Tandon said he was prepared to resign if the allegations were proved. The hospital has been providing services such as laser treatment, big and small operations for Glaucoma, oprerations for the cross-eyed, emergency services and free treatment to the poor, he said.
