President of ANNISU-R, Lekhanath Neupane, has said there is no possibility of an immediate withdrawal of the countrywide indefinite educational strike.
Talking to BBC Nepali service Saturday night, Neupane said the All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union – Revolutionary is not ready to talk until the terrorist tag that the state had imposed on them is removed. He did add that the Maoist affiliated organisation would withdraw the countrywide indefinite educational strike as soon as the tag is removed.
“We have brought down the number of our demands to one and the government is still indifferent,” he said.
Neupane added that the invitation for talks by the newly appointed education minister was “a ploy” and asked the students and parents to be patient for a few days more.
