Security forces Tuesday shot dead nine Maoists in two different encounters in Dolakha, radio reports said Wednesday.
Of the nine Maoists, four were women and one was an area commander, known as Sadhuram, the reports said, adding, they were killed near Singati khola.
Some more Maoists were also arrested from the two different clashes that took place in the evening and late night, according to the reports. The number of arrested Maoists could not be available immediately.
In Okhaldhunga, Maoists abducted a Nepali Congress activist, Prem Bahadur Adhikari from Waksha VDC on Tuesday. Adhikari, who had migrated to Sarlahi fearing Maoist threats, was in his ancestral home in Okhaldhunga for some personal work, the reports added.
