Nepathya to organise concerts for social causes

Nepathya, the foremost folk-rock band of Nepal, is to perform 6 shows in 2006 for social causes.

According to the organiser nepa~laya, the shows will be organized for street children, special children, mentally retarded children, the hearing and speaking impaired, blind people and other special citizens of the nation.

The first show under this series titled – Nepathya for All is to kick off on 23rd December amidst the children, girls and women from Maiti Nepal’s Child protection and Rehabilitation Home.

Social worker and Chairperson of Maiti Nepal, Anuradha Koirala, has in a letter to nepa-laya stated, “ I personally thank Nepathya for their dedication towards social cause, and appreciate their interest to perform for the children, girls and women from Maiti Nepal’s Child protection and Rehabilitation Home.”

“We want to visit shelter homes and similar camps and perform shows for these people in their homes. They are special people and they do deserve this special treatment,” said Amrit Gurung, front man of Nepathya, emphasizing on the objective of the series.

The Kathmandu based Embassy of Finland is financing the shows.
