Kathmandu, Jan. 22 : The week-long training on bee-keeping organised under the joint auspices of the Lalitpur District Development Committee (DDC) and the Local Trust Fund of the Local Self-Governance Programme concluded here recently.

Vice-chairman of Gongabu Village Development Committee (VDC) Prakash Adhikari gave away certificates to the participants of the training.

On the occasion, vice-chairman Adhikari said that bee-keeping had good prospects in Nepal and stressed its development as it could be a reliable source of income for the farmers.

Executive Director of the Gandaki Bee Concern, Dev Bahadur Gurung, said that Nepal could be a country greatly advanced in bee-keeping, second only to Brazil, if bee-keeping was promoted on a large scale.

Thirty-three bee-keeping farmers from various districts had attended the training.
