After three days of talks, Nepali and Indian officials agreed Friday to recommend to their respective governments completion of the detailed project report of the 6,000 MW Pancheswar multi-purpose hydel cum irrigation project on the Mahakali river by the end of June next year, a statement of the Ministry of Water Resources said.
The report was to have been completed this December. The report completion was delayed among other things by incomplete field survey reports, the statement said.
Nepali side to the talks was led by Executive Secretary at the Water and Energy Commission Kishor Babu Aryal while the Indian delegation was led by Radha Singh of the Central water commission.
