Nepali Congress to shift to own building

The Nepali Congress now has its own office building almost ready at Sanepa, Lalitpur. NC president Girija Prasad Koirala inaugurated the newly built building named after party founder leader late BP Koirala Wednesday.

The construction cost of the building sprawling on 10100 sq ft land is estimated at Rs.40 million. Rs.24 million has been spent so far for the construction of 18 rooms. When completed, the building will have 33 rooms including two conference halls and a library. NC officials informed that Rs.21.6 million was raised from donors and the remaining amount would be collected from the party members.

Then NC president K P Bhattrai had laid the foundation stone of the building nine years earlier.

The NC has changed its office building for the 9th time in the past. President Koirala told at the inaugural function that the party would shift to the new building from Teku after a regions rite soon. nepalnews.com mbk Dec 15 04
