Nepal’s Under-17 squad Tuesday defeated Malaysia by four wickets in the first league match of Asia Cup Cricket Tournament played in Vishakhapatnam, India, reports said.
In the 45 overs’ match, Malaysia batted first and made 137 runs losing nine wickets. In return, Nepal reached the score in 22.2 overs. Nepali batsman Mahesh Khadka crossed the half century mark making 54 runs. Paras Khadka, not out, contributed 47 runs.
Nepal has the final league match with Qatar on Wednesday. If Nepal wins the next match with Qatar, it will advance to the second round where they will be joined by Group D winner and Test playing nations India and Pakistan.
