Nepal Travel and Tourism Meet 2005 was organised at Ealing Town Hall, London on 21st December with a view of giving a positive message in the light of the improved security situation in the country, to establish links between travel trade representatives and to provide a platform to discuss and interact in ways to promote Nepal more effectively.

Speaking at the meet, Prabal SJB Rana, Royal Nepalese Ambassador to the United Kingdom said, “In the last six months, the security situation in Nepal has improved and not one single tourist has been a victim in the ten-year-long Maoist insurgency”.
Professor Surya Prasad Subedi, one of the speakers at the meet said that despite some political unrest in Nepal, it is one of the most enchanting travel destinations in the world. He further said, “People’s ideology to parties and politics can be different but when it comes to national interest, everyone should be united.”
Raja Ram Giri, president of Friends of Britain and Nepal, Nepal Tourism Organisation (FBNNTO), the organizer of the meet said, “One main purpose of this travel and tourism meet is to find ways to correct the balance and to project the truth about travel and tourism in Nepal.”
According to a press release issued by FBNNTO, well known British travel and tour operators, airlines, travel reporters and media personnel took part in the meet.
