Nepal has been ranked world’s tenth best adventure tourism destination for the year 2003 by iExplore, an internet based travel agency, a published report said Monday.
The ranking is based on the destination sales during the year, the Kathmandu Post said.
According to the rating, Nepal had slipped to 14th position in 2002, from its previous 10th position in 2001, the daily said, adding, the trekking to Annapurna region and to Everest region are the major packages being sold by the iExplore.
Galapagos, an island at South America is ranked first. China, during the year, slipped to fourth from its first position last year.
Nepal is the only South Asian country to hold the position on the top-ten, the daily added. nepalnews.com mr Jan 12
