KATHMANDU, Oct 18 – Nepal Police Day 2000 was marked by organising various programmes in different parts of the country the other day, said a Central Police Room Bulletin.
According to the bulletin, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police of eastern region Shyam Bhakta Thapa, on the occasion, inaugurated Police Memorial sites at Regional Police Unit Office, Dharan and District Police Office, Dhankuta. He also offered condolence to policemen killed in the line of duty, the bulletin added.
Meanwhile, DIG Ravi Kanta Aryal of western region distributed prizes and certificates to policemen who rendered exceptional services and letters of appreciation to the people for helping police, the bulletin said.
District Police Office, Pyuthan organised various social programmes on the occasion. The temples of the area were cleaned and a rally was participated by school children, public, local politicians and police personnel, the bulletin said.
