Nepal, Maldives meet in crucial semifinals Wednesday

Nepal and Maldives play their last and crucial league match in the SAFF Championship later Wednesday to qualify for a semi-final berth in the eight nation tournament in Dhaka.

Both teams have won one match each in the league matches. Nepal will qualify for the next round with a win over Maldives. Pakistan and defending champion India have qualified for the semi-finals from Group A and Bangladesh from Group B.

Maldives will qualify for the semis from Group B with a draw against Nepal by a narrow margin.

Maldives crushed Bhutan 6-0 while Nepal beat Bhutan 2-0 in the other league matches.
