Kathmandu, 4 February: The meeting of the parliamentary party of the ruling Nepali Congress held in Kathmandu today decided to face the opposition in the forthcoming winter session of parliament that begins on 8 February in a united manner, said Benup Raj Prasai, secretary of the NC parliamentary party. The meeting also condemned the  recent attack on Chief Justice Keshav Prasad Upadhyay by Maoist guerrillas as well as discussing bills to be presented in the session and the strategy to foil the opposition move.

Opposition parties have already announced to launch a joint move against Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala in a bid to force him to step down while demanding his immediate resignation taking moral responsibility of the Lauda Air scandal. Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Tarini Dutta Chataut has already resigned over the same deal but the Prime Minister has vowed not to stepdown under pressure.
