The National Assembly, parliament’s upper chamber, Sunday approved a bill to control terrorism and disruptive activities with amendments, parliament said. Acting Home Minister Chiranjivi Wagle tabled the bill for approval of the Assembly.

The House of Representatives earlier approved the bill. The bill will come into effect after King Gyanendra gives the royal seal to the bill– a formality.

The bill replaces an ordinance issued three months ago to curb terrorism.
