The Education Ministry Thursday called upon the agitating teachers and students to seek solutions through peaceful dialogue, instead of “street protests”.

In a statement, the Ministry said each and every problem can be solved through negotiations.

“The Ministry is sensitive towards the rights and educational demands of the teachers and students,” the statement said. “Most of their demands have already been met. Despite this, we still believe in dialogue.”

Over 450 teachers were arrested only on Thursday morning. They were on sit-in protests in front of the Ministry. Police arrested and released over 150 teachers on Wednesday.
