Minister Shrestha quits

Kathmandu, June 27: Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Omkar Prasad Shrestha resigned from his post as his term of Member of Parliament expired Monday.

Minister Shrestha handed over his resignation to Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. Prime Minister Koirala submitted Shrestha’s resignation to His Majesty the King.

His Majesty the King accepted the resignation Tuesday and allocated the portfolio of Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation to Minister for Local Development Govinda Raj Joshi, according to a notice of Principal Press Secretariat of His Majesty the King. Shrestha was member of the National Assembly, the Upper House of Parliament.
