In complete violation of human rights and humanitarian laws, Maoists have been misbehaving with nine school girls in Dadeldhura district.
Maoists detained them at their labour camps and behaved inhumanely, a report on Tuesday said. Maoists detained school girls abducted from various places in their labour camps at Alital and Sirsha village of Dadeldhura district, Kantipur daily reported quoting a girl who came to Kailali after being released by the rebels.
The girl said that they had to carry stones, dig pits, cut grasses, cook food for the rebels and wash clothes for them in the labor camps, adding, “If we failed to comply with their orders they beat us.” Maoists are also pressurizing girls to join their guerrilla team.
17 year old Chandra Luhar of grade 11 of Siddhanath higher secondary school, 14 year old Dambari of grade seven and Dhana Bhattrai of Sirsha Solauni village development committee and Nirmala and Sushila of grade seven and nine respectively are among the detained girls.
The Maoists had charged them of sexual misconduct. The girl who came to Dhangadhi urged all human rights activists and journalists to initiate efforts for the safe release of all detained girls.
Local people complained that Maoists are imposing false charges on the girls to compel them to join their party. One social worker complained that a number of girls have already been forced to join the rebels in similar incidents.
The Maoists had agreed to respect civil and human rights and join the politics of competition in a 12-point agreement with seven opposition political parties.
