Maoists shot and killed a policeman on duty at a bus park in Hetauda Saturday, Radio Nepal said. Rebels fled the shooting site after the incident.

Rebels sniped at him at two in the afternoon. The policeman died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Meanwhile, insurgents abducted UML activist Prem K.C. from his home in Nawalparasi and took him to Palpa Saturday, Radio Nepal said.
