Maoists kill NC activist, other details

Maoists Friday night killed a Nepali Congres activist at Gauripur village in Siraha district, police said. He was identified as Rajlal Yadav; he died in a second rebel attack.

A soldier shot dead a suspected rebel who tried to snatch a gun from him at Bhadrakali in the capital Saturday, eyewitnesses said. A motorcyclist fled unhurt after a soldier shot at him at around 2 AM after he resisted frisking in Gyaneshwor Sunday, locals said.

The army repulsed a rebel attack at the office of the Nepal Electricity Authority at Tukuche in Nuwakot Saturday night, local officials said. Rebels attempted to blow up a sub-station of the Nepal Electricity Authority in Lahan Friday.
