Maoists destroy police outpost, other details

Nobody was injured Thursday when Maoists bombed an unoccupied police outpost at Kumuswa Bazzar in Bardiya Thursday, police said. The outpost was completely damaged in the attack.

Rebels Wednesday released two abducted activists of the CPN-UML in Bhojpur after releasing two others earlier, a statement said. Those released were former Bhojpur district vice chairman Jayanti Rai and district committee member Surendra Udas.

Insurgents Monday released 140 of 250 kidnapped school students, including girls, from different schools in Dang January 4 and 5, the RSS said. The released students said they were freed conditionally after being abducted to Bogatan area in Dang to participate in a rebel rally. The released students have fled to neighbouring districts or India after being told to be present on demand.

The Jhakre Khola micro hydro power plant resumed  production three months after being destroyed in a rebel attack in Dolakha to benefit 800 households in Dolakha this week, local officials said.
